Golden Gate Fitness 14s Preseason Workouts

Our workouts improve strength, stamina, vertical jump ability, awareness and reaction, and overall aggressive competetiveness for individual and team court play.  These girls are STRONG..and getting STRONGER



The leg extensions increase thigh strength for passing and vertical jumping! 240 reps on the absolo...which means... 240 full sit ups while lifting and shooting and retrieving a 7 pound ball..... core work, setting strength, and shoulder power for hitting.  The rowing is for overall body strength and endurance.


The thigh press and squats strengthen the inner and outer thighs, hamstrings and glutes, which increases jumping ability and is the foundation for controlled, in system passing.  18 minutes on the jacobs ladder, with 5 pound weights on each thigh for hip power and flexibility, is the ultimate cardio and vertical jump workout!


Various squats (on wobble boards while raising and lowering a weighted bar, on the hack squat, and jumping onto platforms and finishing in a soft and quiet squat) all strengthen defense and create an explosion into all aspects of offense. Cardio is incorporated in the workout with elipticals, treadmills, spinning, the jacobs ladder, rowing, and the absolo.  This is an amazing team and a great group of girls with perfect parents!
